Medgar Evans Murder

Medgar evans was murderd in his own driveway. He was shot in the back and then stagerd 30 feet and then collapsed then died in the hospital 50 mins later.

Medgar Evans hose where he was shot wile coming back home from a NAACP meeting. he was shot after John F. Kennedy gave his speach about the civil rights movement.

Medgar evers was burried on June 19 in the Arlington National Cemetery. He recived Full military honors.

Medgar evans was part of the NAACP National Association For The Advancement of Colored People.

Medgar evans was born July 2, 1925 in Decatur, Mississippi. In 1943 he inlisted in the army with his older brother charlie. he fought in france in WWII. in 1948 he enrolled at Alcorn State University. He married his classmate Myrlie Beasley on December 24, 1951 and compleated his degree the flowing year. He was hired at Magnolia Mutual Life Insurance Company to sell Insurance.

medgar evans and his wife lived in jackson and started to set up a NAACP office there. He soon started to investigate crimes commited aginst blacks and tryed to prevent them.
